While conducting a geological survey of an alien planet, Captain Kirk finds himself embroiled in a contest staged by the inhabitants who wish to conduct an experiment to determine which opposing human philosophy is stronger — good or evil.
With the fight over and Kirk victorious, the alien observes that while evil retreats when confronted with force, there is no great difference otherwise between the two philosophies. Captain Kirk explains that while evil fought for personal gain, good fought when it became necessary to save others.
“You offered them power. You offered me the lives of my crew.”
This lesson can be observed in the struggle over abortion. Those who support killing prenatal children do so for personal gain, while those who labor to end it fight to save others. One group fights for the right to kill their own children while the other fights to protect them. No other human conflict draws as clear a line between the forces of good and evil as does abortion.
Will you fight for the lives of others?
