This human being is completely reliant on his parachute to sustain his life, a life solely dependent on a connection that must be sustained until he safely lands. Now imagine this same person prior to their birth. Like a parachute, he was sustained by a placenta connected to his body by an umbilical cord. As with a parachute, if that connection were severed at any point during his prenatal development, he would die. He was completely reliant on his mother to realize his birth — to safely land.
Abortion cuts a connection that sustains a human life. If cutting this person’s parachute away is wrong, why isn’t abortion?
