Should heroin addicts be allowed access to abortions? If they quit heroin whilst pregnant their baby will die inside them, and if they give birth the baby will be addicted to heroin, causing them extreme suffering when born, health complications and increased risk of fatality, as well as a drug addict mother who cannot look after them.

There is no reason good enough, no rationalization adequate enough, to warrant the intentional killing of a preborn human being. Irresponsible mothers who put their child and themselves at risk by injecting heroin during their pregnancy must be slowly withdrawn from this dangerous drug, not abruptly stopped. The vast majority of children put into this situation eventually recover from the challenges associated with their exposure to heroin, including withdrawal effects, premature birth, and low birth weight. There is only a 4-5% chance of major birth defects, but once again, this is no reason to kill a living human being. There are millions of people with birth defects living among us and their lives are just as valuable as yours.
If a drug addicted mother cannot care for her child after their birth, that child will be placed in the custody of child protective services and placed with a foster family who will care for them. If she overcomes her addiction through rehabilitation and gains financial stability, her child will be returned to her. If not, her child will be placed for adoption.
Maybe you should stop trying to use the hardships of some to justify the destruction of others. Over 97% of abortions are committed by healthy mothers against their healthy children. If you think killing a child is an acceptable solution to a problem, you should probably go look into a mirror and reassess your worldview.
