A plea to win the hearts of those who choose to dehumanize our development and undermine our right to live.

  1. How “pro life”are we? When I say I am pro life it means I am against the murder of preborn children. It also means I am for giving potential single mothers the support they need to raise that child. It also means I am against capital punishment. It also means we need to bring home our troops, all of them, and we need to stop the violence against those who we classify belligerent. It also means I am all for opening our doors and borders as wide as realistically possible so that as many other people as possible can have the life liberty and pursuit of happiness that I have been so richly blessed with.
Being pro-life means I am for all life, and my concern does not end at birth.

    1. I agree with almost all of your points. I have personally supported single mothers, empowering them with the ability to protect and nurture their children. I also oppose capitol punishment. After all, how can we build a culture of life while the state kills caged human beings? And I agree that people should be legally welcomed to the United States and other countries where Life, Liberty, and the pursuit of Happiness are their founding values.

I disagree with your assessment of America’s military forces. There is a very scary and unjust world beyond our borders. Having personally experienced this world, I can assure you that we must remain engaged in shaping a better future not only for America, but for our fellow human beings who face a life of despair and unimaginable death simply because of their beliefs. Imagine the kind of world we would be living in today if America had not confronted the inhumanity of Nazi Germany. Trust me, it’s a world where our ideals would have no meaning.

      1. I live in Turkey. I am actively involved in fighting injustice in very pragmatic and tangible ways. I can tell you first hand that America’s military actions, and the attitude it engenders among the rest of the world does little help and a whole heap of harm. It makes the job of those pro lifers who are trying to offer hope and help far, far more difficult.
