As a little girl Jessica Cox dreamed of being able to fly. Not a rare wish for a child but her reasonings were different than your typical superhero wannabe…she wanted out. She wanted to fly away from the kids making fun of her but that wasn’t an option. She learned to be brave in life and to never let excuses keep you from your dreams.
So she flew. Literally.
She’s the first woman to fly a plane with her feet. Not only that but she’s also has a Black Belt in Taekwondo and has earned her Bachelor’s degree in psychology. She’s been sharing her story all across the world and is about to release a movie, “Right Footed”.
During a premiere of the movie, Cox met someone who instantly got her attention. A little girl with the same disease as her and thankfully someone managed to capture a picture of their first moment together.
Ask yourself this question as you look at the picture of these two beautiful human beings embracing each other: How many parents would have aborted them after seeing their first ultrasounds? Would you support their decision to abort based on their child’s disability? Sadly, most children who are missing limbs are killed in the womb. Is this the kind of world you really want to live in?
“You don’t need arms to return a hug… or give one.”
