This week is Life Week on my campus, put on by our Pro-Life group, of which I am the president. We made a display in remembrance of the 1/3 of our generation that is missing due to abortion. It had only been up for one day before it was all destroyed and thrown into a body of water on our campus.

While I am sad that all of our hard work was destroyed and our peaceful display was destroyed, I am reminded that the pro-life movement is about respect for all life.

We live in a culture of “tolerance for all, unless you don’t agree.” I see this in the abortion debate, feminism, and other social justice issues. No matter what side you stand on – show respect for your neighbor. Listen to other people’s views and beliefs with an open mind. It gets us nowhere to destroy property and spread hate.

You must remember who, and what, you are confronting. Abortion is evil incarnate. It is human depravity, selfishness, and cruelty all rolled into one. It is a mother killing her own child, it is a doctor twisting his profession into industrialized human slaughter, and it is a culture based on the sacrifice of the weak for the good of the strong. It should be no surprise that your work was destroyed. Just don’t let it discourage you.

“Evil is powerless if the good are unafraid.” ~ Ronald Reagan
