Debbie Wasserman Schultz did say is was okay to kill a 7-pound baby in the womb by not saying it was wrong nor calling for their protection under the law.
You have a few facts wrong and one fact right. First, you are correct, an unborn child is a baby after 20 weeks. What you fail to understand is that we were human babies from the moment of our conception. In other words, we were babies during all nine months of our gestation.
Second, you are wrong about the time limits for killing babies. In the United States, a preborn baby can be killed through all nine months if the abortionist and the mother agree that she is under ‘stress’ [Doe v. Bolton, 1973]. Even if the mother is not under ‘stress’, abortion is legal in many states on demand until 24 weeks (six months), well into a child’s viability. There are three countries where abortion is legal on demand through all nine months without a medical review: China, North Korea, and Canada.
Finally, it’s an absolute lie that babies killed after 20 weeks are only killed for ‘medical emergencies’. Only 7% of all abortions are claimed to be for medical reasons (child or mother), and those are almost always unnecessary. According to the pro-abortion Guttmacher Institute, 1,060,000 preborn babies were killed in 2011, of those, almost 15,000 were killed after 20 weeks. Most were killed because they had conditions like Down syndrome or cleft palates, hardly reasons to warrant the slaughter of a child. Many others were killed simply because their parents changed their minds or relationships were ended.
The sad fact is that we as a people have forgotten where we came from. We have forgotten that we once lived inside of another person and that we owe our lives to their desire to protect us instead of kill us. We had to rely on their whims because we were not protected by the law. I was conceived shortly before abortion was legal and I am here today. My little sister was conceived shortly after abortion was legalized, she is not here today.
