Theodore Geisel was pro-choice. He never wanted his ‘a person is a person no matter how small’ quote to be a goddamn mantra for you pro-lifers.

If Mr. Geisel, better known as Dr. Seuss, did not want us to believe that we were not worthy of the protections of personhood while small and vulnerable, perhaps he should have chosen his words more carefully.

Somehow, ‘a person’s a person, no matter how small, except when their mother wants to kill them on demand and without apology’, doesn’t have the same ring to it.
