When I was 12 years old, I watched my father have a breakdown over three children he could have had before he married my mother, but their mothers aborted them. He fashioned crosses out of sticks and stuck them in the ground, kneeling in front of them sobbing and apologizing for not protecting my older siblings. It was heart wrenching and the memory is still so vivid with me today at age 23. Men matter.
