prolifefemale:

I’m going to tell you a story about a Facebook status that I saw a year ago or so. A male pro-life advocate was discussing abortion with a woman who was obviously pro-choice, and it went something like this:

  • Woman: It’s a woman’s body, so it’s a woman’s choice, so that means men need stay out of it!
  • Advocate: What about pro-life women? What about what they believe?
  • Woman: They don’t matter.
  • Advocate: So the only opinion that matters is the one of pro-choice women?
  • Woman: Yes.

I’m not going to lie to you, it’s a hard uphill battle being a pro-life woman. You get called out for having “internalized misogyny,” get called a “man with breasts,” and you’re told you’re against women’s rights. So yes, I do feel erased, and I do feel silenced for being pro-life woman.

But that silence is nothing to compared to what I’m fighting for. I’m fighting for the right of every human life to be lived, for babies to be born and loved by someone, for all human beings to have a chance. I’m also fighting for the safety of women, and trying to make it so they don’t feel the need to have an abortionist mutilate their reproductive organs and make it possible to develop infections, as well as comitt the unhealthy action of purposefully ending the natural process of pregnancy.

I’m not the only one though. There are millions of women who are pro-life, some of whom I’ve met on my adventures on tumblr, others who I’ve met in real life and have had the pleasure of talking to and discussing abortion with. I’ve also met women who have been blindsided and lied to by the abortion industry, and now regret the abortions they had and would do anything to have their baby back, and have become pro-life women. Their pain, the pain that post-abortive women feel, and the fact that human lives are at risk keeps me driven, and keeps me going.

They will try to silence me, they will try to erase me, but I am a woman, a strong woman. The numbers of pro-life women are also growing  And we will not be silenced.

“I am Woman, Hear me roar!”

When people reiterate over and over again that the pro-life movement is nothing but old white men who just want to \'control women\'s bodies\' and nothing else, do you feel like you\'re being erased or silence just so someone can continue having a shitty opinion?
