Valerie was conceived in rape when her mother was sexually assaulted at knife-point. Even in these horrific circumstances, Valerie’s mother recognized the value of her daughter’s life and chose to give up her plans to attend law school and instead raise her daughter. Valerie is now participating in Miss USA after winning the Miss Pennsylvania beauty pageant. 

We applaud Valerie’s mother for her sacrificial love for her daughter. Even in the horror of rape, a child is absolutely valuable and innocent.
