Also, please apply for the Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children (WIC). This program provides Federal grants to States for supplemental foods, health care referrals, and nutrition education for low-income pregnant, breastfeeding, and non-breastfeeding postpartum women, and to infants and children up to age five who are found to be at nutritional risk.
There are an enormous amount of resources available to ensure you and your son are well taken care of. My mother was in your exact same situation. She became pregnant with me when she was 17 years old and didn’t have a thing to provide for me. With the support of friends and family, along with a lot of hard work on her part, we never went hungry and always had a roof over our heads. You can do this, never doubt yourself. It takes a village to raise a child, and we’re here for you.
