Outlawing murder hasn’t stopped people from killing other people, are you suggesting that we should legalize murder and provide safe sterile environments for its practice? Should there be safe and sterile environments for raping women? It’s illegal as well, but the law hasn’t prevented its practice.
Our culture must shift along with our laws regarding the unborn members of our human family. Their lives, our lives when we were unborn, deserve the full protection of the law, regardless of whether or not some will still be illegally killed.
Even if pro-lifers succeed in outlawing abortions, women will still get abortions. However, instead of getting an abortion in a safe, sterilized environment after making the very difficult decision to do so, they will have backalley abortions. They will try to self-abort by falling down the stairs or using coat hangers. They will pay for treatment from con-men looking for a quick buck. It has happened before. Banning abortions will not solve problems, but cause them.
