if fetuses have an inherent right to life, why doesn’t anyone else? a kid dying because she needs a blood transfusion doesn’t have an inherent right to life that must be protected at all costs. neither does a man dying of liver failure. if “right to life” was more important than everything else, everyone would be required to donate blood as often as possible and our organs could be harvested without question upon our death. health care would be free. nobody would be starving or homeless.

The logic required to justify abortion is non-existent. Here is where your premise unravels…

Rights do not equal government entitlements. For example, the right to bear arms does not require the government to provide those arms.

~ Abortion kills a healthy human being, no intervention is required to sustain their life.

~ A person requiring an organ transplant is not a healthy human being, requiring intervention to survive.

I absolutely agree that our organs should be harvested upon our deaths and that it should be mandatory under the law. Not donating your organs following your death is almost as selfish as aborting your own child. I encourage everyone to give blood and register as a bone marrow donor.
