I agree, it’s ridiculous and inconsistent. Biologically, there is no difference between a child conceived consensually and a child conceived in rape. Both are innocent individuals who have been forced into a situation against their will. Neither should have to suffer for a crime or mistake their parent committed.
People who hold this view often say they are pro-life with exceptions. I’ll submit that there’s no such thing – they’re really pro-choice with heavy restrictions, because they do believe that killing the child is moral, but only under circumstances which they personally deem acceptable.
Killing a child is never moral or compassionate. It is always a violation of their right to live, therefore it is always wrong.
I respect pro life people. I do, though I\'m pro choice. What I don\'t get is when people say \'well it\'s okay if she was raped\' a child conceived through rape is NO different from a child conceived through consensual sex. I don\'t get why some think it\'s okay for one child to die and another to live like that.
