For those who have not closely followed my blog, I will give you a little background about why I am so passionate about ending the slaughter of prenatal children…
My mother is the young girl on the left. She is attempting to hide me behind her arms because she felt ashamed of being pregnant.
I was conceived and birthed in the United States of America shortly before the legalization of human abortion. My mother was a scared seventeen year old girl that had to deal with the social stigma of carrying a pregnancy out of wedlock while still in high school. My biological father, also very young, turned his back on both of us. My mother again became pregnant a few years later, this time shortly after the 1973 Supreme Court rulings of Roe v. Wade and Doe v. Bolton, legalizing the killing of prenatal children. My mother, wanting to avoid the social stigma of once again becoming pregnant out of wedlock, this time with a different man, decided to end my little sister’s life before anyone found out she was pregnant. My little sister is dead because abortion was tragically legalized by the same court that once legalized the enslavement of African Americans. As an only child, my life has been completely altered by the killing of my sister, forever impacted by the government sanctioned killing of its own people. If my sister had been protected by the law as I was, she would be here with us today. I would have nieces and nephews to love and cherish, my children would have an Aunt to help mentor them and cousins to grow up with. But all of that was stolen away by the depraved and inhuman act of abortion.
My mother hid her abortion from me for four decades and has carried the crushing guilt of her choice since that tragic day. I have forgiven her for ending my sister’s life because she has rejected the idea of killing children while awaiting their birth. She is now pro-life and stands firmly against human abortion. Learn from her — from our — horrific experience. Just because something is legal does not make it right. Help me to change our culture and our laws so that people like my little sister may know the warm embrace of a mother’s love, the protection of a loving family, and the joy of having children of their own.
I will forever miss my little sister, and forever love her.
