It’s never a good sign to be included on a list with perpetual human rights abusers China and North Korea.
A new report released by the Charlotte Lozier Institute revealed that the Unites States and Canada join Vietnam, China, North Korea, Singapore, and the Netherlands as the only 7 countries…
Killing an unborn child at any stage of development puts a nation and its people on the wrong side of history. Human life begins at fertilization, intentionally destroying that life at any point after that moment is a crime against humanity. Our posterity will judge us as depraved barbarians. Now is the time to correct our course and discover our better nature.
United States Joins China, North Korea in Allowing Post 20-Week Abortions
In Finland, we have one of the strictest abortion laws in the industrialized world. Pregnancy can be terminated with a special permission after three months of gestation (before which de facto everyone applying do get an abortion) until 24th week in case of severe fetal anomalies. I find it extremely dubious that there’d be a need for allowing even later abortions on grounds of fetal anomalies that only become detectable very late in pregnancy. We do all the antenatal screenings around 20th week and still have one of the lowest infant mortality and birth defect rates, and indeed, an abortion rate of 11.1 per 1000 women, which is – also – at the low end globally. Third trimester abortions sound like bs on many levels, not the least on the level of necessity. (I find all abortions detestable, but at least there are limits in place here…)
