Hi, I like you am pro life all the way so I want your opinion on what I just went through. Feb 13 my doctor diagnosed my pregnancy as blighted ovum and said I need a d&c. I had the d&c that night. My question is what are your views on blighted ovum?

I am so sorry that your pregnancy did not progress normally. For those who may not know what you have just experienced, here is a little background on blighted ovum from the American Pregnancy Association:

A blighted ovum (also known as “anembryonic pregnancy”) happens when a fertilized egg attaches itself to the uterine wall, but the embryo does not develop. Cells develop to form the pregnancy sac, but not the embryo itself. A blighted ovum occurs within the first trimester, often before a woman knows she is pregnant. A high level of chromosome abnormalities usually causes a woman’s body to naturally miscarry.

You did not abort a child since no child formed. You simply had your uterus emptied of the placenta and gestational sac. This is a miscarriage, not an induced abortion.
