In the United States of America, abortion is legal through all nine months of pregnancy [Doe v. Bolton, 1973]. If a pregnant mother can find an abortionist willing to kill her child up to nine months, she can have it done. All the abortionist has to believe is that her mental or emotional health is at risk and she falls under the ‘protection’ of Doe v. Bolton as decided by the U.S. Supreme Court.
To your second point, all abortions are ‘live abortions’. If the unborn child wasn’t alive, there would be no need to kill him or her.
