We are not the same as we were during gestation. That’s why everyone makes such a big deal over someone being born. Get the picture? It’s becoming autonomous and on your own. You’re not autonomous while relying on someone to live.

Did you rely on someone else to survive when you were an infant? If no one fed and sheltered you, would you have died? Were you autonomous? Clearly, you were not. Does this mean that we should pass new laws allowing the killing of infants and toddlers?
Gestation is simply one of the many stages of life. We begin to grow the moment following our fertilization and we do not stop growing until approximately twenty years later. We are the exact same human being every step of the way and our lives are just as valuable from our first moment until our last.
