bedlamity:

You know, sometimes I want to make my own pro-choice dropcards that are uplifting.

Then I think, “Hey, it costs Abolish Human Abortion $3.00 for fifty cards. Cards that will probably just get thrown out by employees of the store or customers looking at the merchandise. That money could go to much better things.”

I used to not care if people put their money toward their beliefs. Whatever, right? Then I realized how much money is wasted on the pro-life movement and then I thought about born babies and children who are going hungry, abused, abandoned, under-educated, under-nourished, sick, and homeless.

I don’t feel bad anymore telling pro-lifers they’re wasting money.

“Kids are dying? Well, so are fetuses and guess who I’m going to donate my time and money to!”

Seriously, get your priorities straight.

The problem with your ‘logic’ is that you believe that our fetal stage of life somehow makes us a different human being than our infancy. Passing through our mother’s cervix did not change who we are, it only changed our location. That is why we fight so hard to preserve innocent human life, regardless of what stage of development it may currently occupy. You were just as valuable a human being while curled up in a little ball inside your mother as you are today when curled up in a little ball while sleeping.

There is no amount of money worth more than a child’s life, whether born or not. This money is not wasted, it is invested in the effort to change hearts and minds. It is invested in an effort to awaken the human conscience that has fallen asleep at the wheel of knowing the difference between what is right and what is wrong.

A plea to win the hearts of those who choose to dehumanize our development and undermine our right to live.
