What is your reasoning behind holding human life up on a pedestal? We’re overpopulated, destroying the earth, we create war, genocide, poverty. People are a disaster. What’s so great about humans that you think every single one needs to grow to maturity? Are the lives of animals just as sacred to you? I’d argue they should be held in even higher esteem because they can’t be evil like humans can.
It’s not human life I am holding on a pedestal, it’s humanity itself. This concept is synonymous with humaneness, brotherly love, compassion, sympathy, consideration, tolerance, charity, goodness, philanthropy, generosity, mercy, and tenderness. To kill a prenatal child is to violate our humanity.
It is my absolute conviction that if we shed the depravity of slaughtering and poisoning the most vulnerable members of our human family, we will begin to grow beyond the challenges you described in your question.
