I was adopted at 11 years old and I am now 24. Sure, the first 11 years of my life were difficult. I dealt with abusive foster parents and depression. But the last 13 years have been incredible and everything just keeps getting better. My adoptive parents are amazing and I am so appreciative of them. I love them more than anything. Adopting older kids is NOT a bad thing! In the grand scheme of life, 11 years is nothing.

Thank you for sharing your story. The idea that killing a child because he or she might experience hardships early in life is disturbing and truly disheartening. This argument could also apply to infants and toddlers. If their lives are hard or their parents are overwhelmed with having to care for them and are abusive, should they be able to kill them? It’s simply ludicrous.
