Subjective Value

“A prenatal child is just as valuable as a neonatal child.”

And that kind of thinking is exactly why you are a disgusting person. A fetus is only valuable if it is wanted by the pregnant woman (and occasionally the father). A born child has its own value it can offer to the rest of the world and others value it and are affected by it.

This is a classic example of only assigning value to something if you can actually see it. Because a prenatal child hides behind the veil of his or her mother’s abdomen, they must not be real human beings and therefore we should be able to kill them. Why are so many people so incapable of employing logic and reasoning? So incapable of having the slightest ability to envision that which they cannot see?

Why does the value of a human being magically change the moment his or her head slips past the cervix? And why does their value diminish to the point of legalized killing just because their mother or father consider them ‘unwanted’ when there are others who are desperate for a newborn child?
