To that last anon who said they experienced sexual abuse after being given up for adoption: I was never given up for adoption, and guess what? I was sexually abused. It happens to everyone, regardless of where they are in life. And you know what else? I’m glad to be alive! Yes, it was bad. Life is never perfect. But there are good things too. I’m glad to be alive for those and you should too!

Thank you for sharing your story. We don’t hear enough from people like you who have experienced the dark side of humanity but possessed the wisdom to realize that one tragedy does not destroy an entire life’s worth of experiences.
Whenever I submit a post about adoption, I receive comments extolling the virtues of abortion over the benefits of adoption. It’s almost as if ‘pro-choice’ was really only about one choice, as if it were nothing more than a euphemism for abortion. Come to think of it, I can’t remember ever hearing a ‘pro-choice’ advocate champion for the cause of parenting either. Maybe I’m onto something here…
