But seriously, part of what’s so problematic about the stigma surrounding abortion is that people don’t realize that it is simply a routine, low risk, surgical procedure. Women even get freaked out when you refer to it as a surgical procedure. They think its this dirty back alley thing where people will get you in and out with no questions asked. If you have pre-existing medical condition, it needs to be addressed as it would be with any surgical procedure, especially with general anesthesia. People think because its such a dirty, dark thing that it won’t be treated with the same respect and caution as any other surgery.
The stigma of abortion is not what is problematic. Abortion is not just a routine, low risk, surgical procedure for the child. How can people be so flippant about killing other human beings? Why are you and others like you so blind to the fact that at least one person is going to die every time this ‘low risk’ procedure is done??
Human beings have committed some of the most unimaginable atrocities over our often sad history. The legalized killing of our own sons and daughters is destroying what little morality and understanding of right and wrong we have left as a species.
We are devolving into a selfish and depraved people with no regard for the human rights of those who will follow us into this world. Our prenatal children need our love and protection, not a routine, low risk, surgical procedure.
