Balancing Morality

anonymous:

Why do you say that fetuses are infants and children even though they haven’t been born yet?

cultureshift:

I have never called a ‘fetus’ an infant. A child may exist at various stages of life: zygote, blastocyst, fetus, infant, toddler, or adolescent.

Our passage through our mother’s cervix did not morph us into something different than we were the moment prior to that event. We were our mother’s child while living in the womb and we remain her child long after birth.

Even many abortion advocates stop fighting for a woman’s right to electively abort her child after 24 weeks (six months) of gestation. Life begins at conception, not some arbitrary point in time that attempts to balance morality with the killing of a living human being.
