Mental Gymnastics

anonymous:

I honestly wish my mother could have aborted me, she could have done fine with my brother alone but she had me when she was 16 and I fucked her life over. I know she regrets having me, she’s never said to my face but I’ve heard her say it. I wish my mother had a choice.

oh-snap-pro-choice:

You have no reason to feel this way, sweetheart. Your mother made her choice, and she’s living with it and I’m sure she loves you. There’s no reason to wish you were aborted. Please don’t feel that way. — Ash

I don’t believe you fucked her life over. I don’t know you, but I know that you are here now and not only are you WORTH life, but you are just as worthy of life as your brother is. If she has EVER made you feel like you are a mistake, then that’s a really shitty thing to do. Don’t listen to her. I know that’s easier said than done, but I’m glad you’re here. You’re mother had a choice. She chose to keep you. You are not a mistake, you’re an amazing individual. You deserve to be here 🙂 — Alyssa

This is a dazzling display of contorted morality and mental gymnastics.

This abortion advocate just told this person that she is worth life, even though she wishes she would have been aborted. That she is just as worthy of life as her brother. That they are glad she is here.

“There’s no reason to wish you were aborted. Please don’t feel that way.”

Maybe people feel that way because people who advocate for abortion have sent the message that ‘unwanted’ children are disposable and should be killed by their mothers if so desired.

These are the same people that would have volunteered to escort this person’s mother past the pro-life protesters at her local abortion mill to ensure she made it to the finish line.

Incredible.
