Take a minute to think about animals. In particular dogs. Now some of these get pregnant on purpose, and are bred by their owners. If they are the “right” breed, pedigree, healthy, they are sold hopefully to nice new owners. This is what you assume adoption is like. Now look at the shelters where the dogs who weren’t adopted go. Many are eventually euthanized, saving them from a terrible life of abuse and starvation. This is what abortion does for unwanted kids.
Responsible pet owners have their pets spayed or neutered. I am 100% in favor of applying this practice to human beings that never want a child, at their option of course. I am also 100% in favor of human beings using non-abortifacient birth control measures, in synergy. See my post ‘Let it Rain Birth Control’.
Although I agree that not all children are adopted, this does not equate to a dog shelter. There are loving families who open their homes as foster parents and orphanages that also step in to shepherd these children to adulthood. None of these children are euthanized, which is where your analogy falls apart.
You are literally making an argument for killing prenatal children because they may not experience the ‘ideal’ model of childhood. Some have better experiences with adoption, foster care, and orphanages than others. But I seriously doubt you will find very many adults that relied on these systems who regret they weren’t killed by abortion.
They, like you and I, go on to find love, to get married, and to have children of their own. I don’t know why people like you are so quick to dismiss the value of their lives and promote their destruction while still in the womb.
