Many of us were born under the specter of Roe v. Wade, and all millennials currently seeking to abort their children were born into a society that has warped the underlying principle that every human life is equally valuable and should be protected. The worldview of those conceived in the United States since abortion was legalized is skewed and creates great confusion in the minds of many. Even the most pro-abortion among us knows deep in their hearts that aborting a human being is wrong. Only the most sadistic among us can view pictures of aborted children and not feel repulsed. This repulsion originates from our basic understanding of right and wrong.
Abortion advocates convince themselves that a developing human baby is no baby at all, that they are something else; that they are a ‘parasite’, or that they are just ‘a clump of cells’. We are all conceived under the existing laws and culture of our society, and it is up to us, collectively, to change that culture when it has gone astray, and to change the laws that push our values off course.
Under this premise, those of us that value life beginning with conception must never fail to confront those who advocate for the killing of prenatal children with the brutal truth and unfiltered reality of what abortion does to living human beings. We must provide the care and resources pregnant mothers need to embrace the life of their child.
Hearts and minds can, and do, change. Even Jane Roe changed her mind. Once they begin to value every human life, they pass these values on to the next generation and the tide begins to turn.
